Polydioxanone (PDO) Thread Lifting

Due to aging and environmental factors, collagen and elastin contents in the skin decrease, leading to wrinkles and skin laxity problems on the face.

PDO thread lifting provides a non-surgical method to improve the above skin problems.  During the PDO thread lift, a needle that is pre-loaded with a PDO thread is inserted in the interstitial tissue at subdermal level and the needle is finally pulled out with the PDO thread remained under the skin, creating an instant skin lifting effect.  At the same time, the insertion of PDO thread under the skin mechanically stimulates a number of intracellular biochemical reactions in skin tissue cells, leading to increase collagen and elastin synthesis to secure the skin lifting effect.  This lifting effect may last for 1-2 years depending on the client’s skin condition.

Similar to any procedures using a needle, it should be noted that PDO thread lifting may cause temporary side effects such as bruising and swelling.  Apart from the above mentioned risks, other unexpected side effects may occur in different individuals.

In conclusion, PDO thread lifting is a non-surgical method to insert a PDO thread under the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, resulting in skin tightening and lifting effects.
